Our new favorite toy

David LOVES his new lion. He watches it dance (when I make it dance) and talks to it, it is the first toy he has reached for! He likes to hold the keys and sometimes tries to eat them, but the lion is IT! Thanks Gina! :-)
We all have a bit of a cold. David seems to be like me with the sinus drainage to the stomache rather than to the chest like Charlie... I guess that is good and bad in some ways. We are fussy today and probably tomorrow, but hopefully will be better by Saturday for a trip to Montrose.
The HUGE moth was outside at midnight when we first woke up last night. And here are a few other cute pics.

All night! (well almost)

Yes ladies and gentlemen.... David slept until 4:30am!!!! I did what my Mom suggested, since the rice cereal won't go through the nipple (I have ruined a few trying) I put it on a spoon and fed it to him, it was a little messy and took two spoons to get him a full serving, plus he ate 6oz of formula, all after a bath... and I was so shocked when I looked at the clock this morning... he even woke me up! Usually I wake up at around 2am now since I am used to it, but due to no nap yesterday I was beat, and still am. Let's hope he keeps it up as it takes at least 3 days of good sleep to be totally caught up.

I'm a horrible mother!

We got rid of commercial tv at least, but I noticed when he is in his chair he watches what I am watching, so I put in Happy Feet so I could eat dinner... at least I am monitoring I guess... and sitting with him... I just feel like if it isn't me entertaining him I am doing him wrong????

Great Grandma!

We best not forget we fell asleep on Great Grandma Ruthy too!

How cute can we be!

So David is totally adorable! Who couldn't love him. He fell asleep on Grandma, is in love with new prints like his play quilt and anything flashy or different, he loves to shove his fingers in his mouth (and the keys Grandma brought him!), and I got him sitting up with no help long enough for two pictures! Yes he was ballanced on the pillow in my lap, but he didn't spaz and fall -I was careful that I could catch him though! He is still a ways from sitting up alone for real, but will probably do that before he crawls and scoot across the floor instead- and he is a "little man" napping, this pic is for Tom.
Well, the "little man" is hungry, again, so I better get!

Family visit

Well, it is late, but I had to go online to check about chicken pox, I've had them, Charlie has had them, but I was exposed today! I so hope David doesn't get them yet... he is soooo young for being sick, I would prefer to try the vaccine and have him get them from that in a milder way... cross your fingers!
Great Grandma Ruthy and Grandma Anna came up with diapers, and lots of bibs and clothes for David... oh, and cookies for us! We had a great lunch and David had a great time playing... he is getting to be so much fun!

More cuteness!

David is in my left arm, so I will type more next time... more cute pics!

Too Cute!!!

I have way too many cute pics today.... I will have to post in a few blogs to spread them out... David has just been so much fun the last few days! He saw my old doctor Kathy the other day and smiled and laughed at her... he went to the park (mostly he just slept in the car seat on the table, lol... no pics though :( sorry)... Daddy took him outside to water the yard, he loves being carried around in the baby bijourn (sp?)... and played in his johnny jump up swing a few times, he is learning to put his feet down and rotate as he likes.
I guess I am going to have at least one page of cute sleeping pics in his scrap book... he is just so funny when he sleeps! The announcements should be done this month, yay! It has taken a long time for me to get it started and now I have the pics pulled out that I want to use, so hopefully this weekend I will have help watching David and can get it finished... it is going to be a great compilation of pics to date so no one misses out on the "best of David"!
Kermit is feeling better, but where did his spots go?! (see the earlier blog of his tummy)
Also a big thanks for the new toy to Aunt Angela and Uncle Kirk, he likes to hit at it and hold the rings a bit... the dogs love the squeekie sound so I fear for its life, lol... but so far they have left Davids toys alone, other than the first "binky" that Cole chewed up.

A swinging good time!

Well, David loves the swing and will turn his head as he slowly spins to look at things that he chooses. He drags a foot to spin back or stop, he is learning that he can control it, I just don't think he actually has control of it yet. Bad news with sleeping until 10:30 yesterday, meant he didn't want to sleep good last night, he fell asleep eating his bedtime bottle then would wake up when I put him to bed and fuss, took my three tries, but he did finally finish the bottle, he then made all sorts of noise all night, around 2 am I decided he needed a bottle and changing, the change went fine, he almost slept through it, but the bottle was barely eaten as he kept falling asleep, but would continue making noises all night! Boy am I tired, he almost napped until 8 am this morning, but still made noise, I am going to keep him awake now if possible... he is trying to sleep right now... and let him get in a small nap this afternoon, then see how tonight goes, a bath should put him right to sleep around 8 or 9 I hope. Well, all is well other than being tired again, though I may have broken my foot rather than it just being sprained... I guess I will go to the doctor if it isn't better by the end of the week. :-)

I couldn't resist!

It's been hot and we spend a lot of "naked time" on the floor to keep cooler... and sometimes you just need a cold beer, lol!

Ribs! Yummmmmm

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to Grandpa Chuck and Grandma Jill for the spare ribs! I learned how to cook something new and Charlie said they were wonderful (I would of course have to agree!)... here are some new pics of David smiling and playing... he slept til 4am! I am hoping this means he is closer to sleeping through the night, then he woke up around 7am then we napped with a short snack break until around 10:30am.... I am LOVING this trend and hope it continues! Also a great big thanks to Great Aunt Sandy, we love the crawler! Now that I know what it is called I am ready to go baby shopping as this is a wonderful garment for dressing a baby... snaps with no over-the-head pulling to upset David. We love the bib too, he uses at least one a day now that I have to bottle feed. Charlie keeps coming up with great ideas to keep David occupied, we have to watch and help him in the "Johnny Jump Up", but he has a blast in it, soon he will be able to actually bounce himself!

Doing good, just tired

Well we are doing good, we had some nice cold mornings for a few days, but now we are hot in the day again... almost 80ยบ inside so David is eating a lot! He did finally get to wear a cute outfit from Aunt Angela! He now sleeps until 3 am almost every morning, we had a rough night a few nights ago with 3 wake-ups, but mostly I get around 5 hours of sleep now, yay! but shorter naps during the day. Charlie is working hard, mostly 10 hour days. I am looking for side work with graphic design and starting my own Mary Kay business (I will post more on that as soon as I get done with training), we are also trying to rent out our spare room for a bit, we hardly use it and the extra income would really keep us up on the mortgage and give us a little extra cash to help complete the dog yard and start work on the deck! If you know of anyone looking for a month to month room (bed included and almost exclusive use of the guest bath, pets are also concidered) get them in touch with us :-) We may not be able to travel every month like I'd hoped for visits with the grandparents... bummer, but work is going to start taking up all of my spare time, I may be waitressing on the weekends and some nights at the Crystal Club or the Redstone Inn if they have positions still available.

A blast from the past

Here are a couple of pics that Grandma Jill brought for us from Davids baby shower, it was the first time she got to see him in person, she also met Grandma Anna that day, both had to leave after the party, he was just over a week old. These pictures look so "old time photo" I am in lace with dark hair and the photo color is sorta cream colored like sepia, pretty cool shots! It is so amazing how small he was.

Our own little John Deer

Check out how cute David is, he practically smiled on comand! Grandma Jill bought him this new outfit, it is a little big, yay!
Nothing much new today, trying to rent out our spare room to get a little extra cash, I am selling Mary Kay also, but am still a ways away from throwing parties... hopefully I get my website soon so I can host online parties and some of you can help support my business :-)
David is smiling and bouncing a lot in his chair, he just loves to kick his feet and move his arms, guess he is going to be an active boy, as soon as he can sit up he can get in his "jump up johnny" chair, what a blast he will have in that! As you can see David is also getting good at "tummy time" and holding his head up, I didn't get a good pic, but shortly after this one he was holding his head so high he could look straight in front of himself! Not long and he will be rolling over!

Grandma Jills visit

Grandma Jill came up to visit... she brought a cute new outfit that I took a pic of David in for the next blog. All is well, it is hot today... 77 inside and 75 outside, lucky Charlie who is working on the watering system... lol :-)

On a personal note

Sorry there is no pic, but I have had this on my chest for about 2 months now, lol... I really understand how the "baby blues" can become postpardum (sp) depression, how missing being pregnant with David could lead me to want to get pregnant again, even though I know it won't be him in me anymore... it is just a longing I have now to have someone growing inside me. I know we have put an IUD in place that lasts for 10 years (though they can fail), I sometimes hope that maybe... someday... when it is meant to be again... it will fail and we will have a little girl... though I am so happy with David and don't really want another baby now, or possibly ever, I do really miss the time when I was pregnant with him, more than I thought possible! Though I listened to everyone about it and enjoyed every minute thoroughly due to my knowledge of how much I would miss it, I still miss it.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my feelings, just incase it helps someone else, or at least helps me by saying it "out loud".

Sister Cole

It is official, today David actually saw Cole for the first time... not that she hasn't tried to get his attention a million times before, but today he actually saw her and looked at her for a few minutes! He wouldn't look at Vodka though :-( she loves him still and I am sure he will love her. Unfortunately Uncle Kermit will not be around David due to his uncontrolable energy... but the girls will take good care of him :-) Kermit is doing better, getting spoiled on canned food and will eat any of his 5 daily pills without me having to force him... what a great dog he can be sometimes!
Still tired and cranky today (both of us that is)... one shot site is still sore and hard and red... looking forward to Grandma Jills visit and hoping Grandma Anna can bring Great Grandma Ruthy up for a day sometime this month... they won't believe how much he's grown!

Smile!!!

Check out David smiling for Mommy and the camera.. he even thought it was funny to stick his tongue out!
