Just some cute pics of David

Been so caught up with Kermit that I haven't put up any new David pics... he is 8 weeks tomorrow and 2 months next week! He is around 12 lbs now and is growing out of all of his socks, even the up to 12 month size, they are too tight on his legs... also his small short sleeved onesies... he is wearing a 9 month one that is only slightly too big! The cute sweat pants and others are too tight in his tummy and getting too short for his long legs... the boy is going to be TALL!

Kermit - UPDATE

Well, it turns out Kermit not only ate rocks (thank god that he did as they showed up on the xray and the squeekie didn't), but the squeekie he ate had been passed into his intestines as well as some stayed in the stomach, they were attached by a lot of string and it could have bisected his bowls, but I got a call this morning and he is alert and went to the bathroom just fine... they will offer him water at noon and food at 3, I pick him up at 4:30 unless they call. I guess he can't have squeekies unattended anymore and I am really going to have to watch him, or muzzle him when I take him out around rocks... watching apparently didn't work as that is what I have been doing.... I still think that somehow the rocks were in the laundry room and I didn't see them somehow or he is super sneaky!... I don't know.... anyway, he seems fine and will be home tonight :-)

Kermit -bad news (again)

Well, I dropped Kermit off at the vet this morning... he has been throwing up since yesterday and won't eat, since a part of his soft frog toy was in it I figured that was all it was... they found 2 large rocks on the xray! I have been watching him like a hawk!!! I walk him on a leash, he is in the laundry room all day and night... how did he get a rock!?!
So he is in my thoughts right now as he goes in for surgery to remove them... this isn't the first time... and that is why I am so surprised as I was sooooo careful! Let's all hope for the best... I will let you know how it goes.

Grandma Annas Visit

Well my mom came out for a few days... she loved holding and feeding David... he really has started to grab at and smile at his rattles on the bouncy chair! She played with him so much he slept almost 4 hours after she left... wish I had tried to wake him up sooner, maybe he would have slept longer last night!
I played with him today and he hardly slept... he is napping for about an hour now... I hear him starting to wake... so maybe tonight will be the night... cross your fingers! He was so fun today, laughing and smiling at me... we had a great time!

First Walk

I don't have a pic cause I spaced and didn't bring the camera, but Charlie took David in the baby biourn (sp?) and I walked Kermit around our circle. David had a great time looking at the leaves on the trees as they passed overhead... he had a great time in his bouncy chair today also, he is reaching for things and likes to listen to the music it plays... he must be tone deaf because he loves it when I sing along, even when I don't really know the words... "la" seems to work though!

Better now...

Thanks Diane for the advise... but David has all of a sudden started sleeping better at night! Only about 3 wake ups... though after 5 am it is pretty much awake time and he takes many very short naps with more happy awake time that isn't just about feeding! Usually we get one big nap around noon and sleep from whenever we go to bed after 9 pm until at least midnight, maybe even 2 am! I just kept up the swadling and it seems to keep him from moving so much he wakes himself up. He is outgrowing the bassinette though, but I am not ready to move him... we both wear earplugs so only the loud coughs and cries wake me now :-)
Anyway... I haven't been taking naps and am very tired, my new computer finally arrived just as my old one got so full I could barely use it... that is why I have been offline lately. More pics to come soon!

Fun Weekend

Charlies family (Aunt Angela, Uncle Kirk, Cousin Skylar, Grandma Jill and Grandpa Chuck) came for a visit this weekend. We had a great time. Also Kermit is home!!! He kissed David on the head the other night to show me that he understands how important he is... he is still too big and gets too excited to be alone with David... but at least I know he is trying to be gentle! I skipped yesterdays nap so I am laying low today... enjoy the pics!

Exercise time!

David held his head up yesterday! For quite a little while too! He is getting so much stronger... he was awake last evening for over 3 hours!!! He still didn't sleep for more than 2 1/2 hours at a time though, and still a few one hour naps this morning, he seems to fight sleep a lot now... he grunts and squirms and cries and won't let himself stay asleep for long... right now he is waking himself up, has been since 6 am... I have him in his carseat by our bed (he seems to sleep better in it sometimes)... hard for us to sleep when he is fussing... soon I am going to be forced to move him to his own room :(
Well, Charlie has been working hard on the retaining wall which means the dog yard will be done soon... boy is it looking good! Kermit is coming home today!

Mothers Day in Montrose

We had a great time in Montrose visiting Grandma Anna and Great Grandma Ruth... Starr decided she would guard David... even from Baby the cat who was scared of him when he cried. David spit up (more like overflowed) on both Grandma and Great Grandma this weekend... welcoming them to his family... I think it is pay back for feeding him and not changing any diapers, lol! Really though, we had a great time and David really enjoyed looking at Grandmas pink walls and her moving picture... he also was facinated with the beams on the ceiling... easily amused I guess :-) Baby was looking at him once and he fussed and she ran, then he had the most surprised look on his face... his first cat encounter!

Just a quickie

Just a quick note and some pics... we had another rough night... he likes sleeping on me in the chair in the afternoon, but not in his bassinette at night... I am trying a few methods to see what works best... no matter what I do though, he wakes himself up for an hour at least before he actually wakes up... mostly he just wakes us up with his grunting... he may be sleeping in his crib soon... Cole will get to be his nighttime buddy then... she will love having a "job".

David and I went to Montrose to visit Grandma Anna and Great Grandma Ruth... I will load those pics as soon as I can, until then here are a few from when Ralph came to visit. Hope everyone is well... we are very tired... we had a good time, but David has started sleeping only 3 hours early in the night then 1 hour naps after that, last night we even had 1/2 hour naps after 4 am (I guess that is really this morning)... so I am going to try to keep him awake more during the day... or I am going to start crying too!

Interesting..

We have had some interesting weather this weekend.... and some interesting times... ok, more like cranky, hot and tired, not to mention hungry... we went to town a lot this week and as a result David slept a lot on the trip and not so much at night. Charlie had to take him for me one morning after a night of 1 hour sleep sessions. Well, I only had a minute to post. Here are some pics, David is now 1 month old!

A good day...

Well, today David is one day over 4 weeks and one day under 1 month...
Here is a pic Charlie took of the valley... one of him working on our dog kennel... Vodka not getting up in the morning (Cole and her love their new blanket)... and Cole & Vodka are watching over their "little brother".

Four Weeks!

David is four weeks today.. to the day... but still not a month old until Sunday... here are some fun pics from yesterday.
David has figured out how to get his thumb in his mouth... Vodka is waiting for him to grow into the "food machine" that cousin Skylar is... he loves when I put a blanket in the carseat and let him nap or just hang out with us in the living room... he is awake more and more... just enjoying the view out the window or us playing with him.
