Lots of fun trips to Montrose and the ranch.... will try to post pics from those, but I literally have hundreds of photos I just downloaded from my camera to sort through.... so no promises as to when.

Yep, he did it, not only can he use his little potty to stand in front of our toilet, he used it for the first time today for #2! What a big boy David is!
I PROMISE to post pics from Montrose and the ranch as soon as I can.... I am now working part time for the Carbondale office that I worked for before, so I am busy as usual!
David loves pre-school, and has blossomed so much since hanging out with his older cousin Skylar, they are totally impressed!

Ok, I just had to stop doing dishes after a wonderful comment to post this... ok, I wanted to stop doing dishes anyway, lol!
I asked David if my hair was long and he said "Mommy Hair Pretty", I said "what?" and he repeated it! He even made a gesture of long hair on his head, sort of the same sign he does for nice, like you are petting something gently.
What a sweetie!!!!

Just wanted to show off some pics, have to sort through the video, but get this, I still don't have the software to play my own videos from my camera! lol!! Just a quick hello regarding the camp out.... it went great.... we played in dirt.... swam in a pool.... and I am the only one who got sunburnt! (of course!!!)
David is quite vocal though and had a few tantrums, I am sure the neighbors didn't mind us leaving! But he is learning we don't throw rocks in the tent, at the car, at the dog or at mom and dad! He slept with me on the air mattress one night and Charlie slept on two tiny pads in the other tent, so we all decided to share the mattress the next night, it worked ok, but we need a bigger tent for sure. David loved looking at the stars out the top of the tent though, and loved swimming of course. We took his new "bobby" and he spent hours just scooping sand and rocks with it, what fun!
We saw the sun rise and set and a bright moon overhead also. Can't wait to do it again. Sorry, no pics yet, I work this week and David is in Pre-school, he graduated to the "big kid room" and went all day yesterday without a diaper!!!!

A Quick Howdy!

I wish I had uploaded the photos from last weekend, but I spent too much time trying to get my tires rotated, unpacked and re-packed for this weekend (Hello Moab!!).
So..... I just want to say we had a great time in Wyoming during the "Mothersday Cattle Branding Event", more commentary to come, along with pics.....
Also, a big thanks for all the gifts and cards received, David has enjoyed them. Recently he received some wonderful Bob the Builder hand me downs (I can't find your # Kelli) and has enjoyed new tv shows and stories to read, I am so glad to have the books as we did not have any, and all the videos are new to David as well. He is sleeping with his pillow and LOVES the big Scoop. The outfits are adorable! Pics of this to come as well.... remember, don't open packages right before nap time! We had to hide his new "bobby" that Nana and Papa (Charlies parents) got him, but that should come in handy along with his bucket and shovel from "mama" (my mom Anna) in Moab. We hope to get the "sand turtle" from Walmart as it will give him a great place to play this summer.

Well, David had a small celebration in Montrose and has received several gifts by mail. He has enjoyed opening them all and it has worked out great having gifts every few days rather than a bunch all in one day. I still hope to have his party in May, it might be in Wyoming for the Mothers Day Cattle Branding, we will keep you posted!
David is in love with bubbles now, he got a lawnmower that blows bubbles and we took a long walk with Grandma (my mom) who he calls Mama, to the park and back twice with the mower! He blew his first bubble when we got back and opened AASKs gift, so he was very proud! I better get back out there with him, almost snack time... boy does he eat! My grandma "Nana" loved feeding David popsicles after dinner, which helped with Davids back teeth that are still coming in. He also learned to imitate my moms dog star and climbed out of his crib there once, but got scared as that is a big fall, so, cross your fingers he won't do that again for awhile.
Here are a few pics and a cute video of David in his Bob The Builder garb, he is still shy of talking toys, but it only takes a few days before he loves them. Pics included are "David the Builder" "Kermit the Horse" "David the cutest boy and knows it" "David reads to his babies" and "David the mower (in the red hat my mom knitted for my brother when he was Davids age)" ENJOY!
Hope everyone is well, and thanks again for the cards and gifts, it means so much to us that we are on your minds, especially now when I am out of work and can't really afford to "spoil" David for his birthday yet again this year. Take care!

Davids Birthday

Just an update about Davids birthday, I have not sent out invites yet as I am not sure when it will be this year, probably early May as we have work being done on our water line in the area and won't have drinking water and it will make it a hassle to entertain, plus being without a job entertaining might be a bit more expensive than we can afford. I will keep you posted. We are going to celebrate in Montrose and have another small family gathering in Wyoming or Steamboat (not sure which).

So, if anyone is curious about his likes, he LOVES Bob the Builder though we have a few DVD's already. I have been informed there is a work bench and tool belt on its way already! He loves Bobcats and any sort of construction related books, puzzles, shirts, you name it he will go crazy for it, he is also big into farm equipment and animals. He wears 3T right now and is set on winter clothes. He also loves the giant legos and I am trying to think of what other sort of building blocks are age appropriate for him as I wanted to get him some. He is getting so smart, he loves flash cards and books. I just realized this sounds like I am asking for stuff for David, but I just wanted to inform anyone who is interested what David is into etc... lol!

So now I feel bad that I haven't completed our Christmas thank you yet and can't afford to right now, but here is a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to everyone!!!! -for now, I will still plan on sending some pics as soon as we can.

Well, I have been online a lot today job searching, no pics though, sorry... I just had a thought I wanted to share... after a bath, a book, tooth brushing, diaper change, kissing daddy, doggies and Roo (kitty) goodnight -and mommy!- David went to bed with his babies, Elmo and Cookie Monster (Cole to join him shortly), when I went to do my routine, brush my teeth, take out the dogs, feed the cat, check all their waters, turn on the baby monitor it hit me... when did it change from "turn the monitor all the way up so we can hear him breathe" to "this is the loudest we want it cause if we hear him breathe it will keep us up all night" -not to mention he can scream loud enough for us to hear him from outside the house, lol!
Things are changing, he is growing, I am happy and sad, but I love this little man of ours, more and more everyday... he is already outsmarting both me and Charlie on a daily basis.

I thought I would let everyone know I am still searching for a job and just spent a horrible amount of time updating my resume and emailing it everywhere I could find.
Poor David will not be going to pre-school for a bit, but is having fun with me and Charlie at home. This weekend he got to help me take care of Aarons dog kennel and had a blast feeding the dogs, giving them cookies, getting lots of kisses and feeding the fish in his Koi pond. He loves to pick out certain flash cards when I ask him to give them to me, he does good on the "animal/thing" side, but is still learning the alphabet side. He also loves the huge legos at Papa and Nanas townhome and I hope to get him some for his b-day, but alas, we can't have his party til May as we will not have water due to the work they are doing in the neighborhood. David still talks pretty well and is adding new words everyday.
Speaking of David, I think he is up from his nap... talk to you soon and promise to post more pics as well. Take care!

Sad Days

Well, I just lost my job last week due to the economy, so did another co-worker, Hi Nicole!!! I feel your pain.
The worst part is David had to be pulled out of pre-school since we can't afford it and getting financial help from the government has been a pain, as if it isn't painful enough to ask for it, we have to really beg for it...
I am looking for work and may have a job within the month... but the worst other than David being pulled out of a wonderful class with great teachers and other children to socialize with is that my 9 year old husky is sick, I can't take her to the vet due to bills I am trying to pay off from Kermit (the crazy husky who eats things he shouldn't), I owe over $2,000 on him still and they won't let us take our dogs until he is paid off and I can't afford to pay... all of them need their yearly vaccinations and check up as well as my poor sweet girl being sick... I just wanted to vent as I can't help but cry over her, she is in such pain and has been such a loyal friend, she used to be one of my lead dogs, I feel like a failure sometimes, and now more than ever. I hope she just has a "flu/cold or stress", but worry it may be more and that she might be suffering because of me and I can't help her.

I have been sooooo bad about posting lately, so I thought I should add some cute pics of David really quickly.
As for an update: David is in pre-school/daycare 2 afternoons a week and is having a great time socializing and playing with the other kids and adults. The sign language has been very helpful as he can't always say what he wants but is getting more vocal everyday... he can say hi, up, down, oops, nana, papa, baby, daddy, mommy, boots, whoa!, apple, purple, no, bobby (meaning daddies mini x which he LOVES! He even sleeps with a wooden puzzle piece of it and wakes up screaming "bobby!" at night sometimes) and roo (the cat) clearly. He is trying to say Kermit, Vodka, Grandma and tons of other words, thankfully he can sign for water, milk, more and several other things as he needs them. He can imitate lots of animals now as well as point out body parts when you name them. David can even feed himself with a fork or spoon now! He has also learned how to climb over the couch to get out of "play land" so he can't be left alone for even a second or he is all over the house!
Charlie built a snow slide in our front yard and David had a blast sledding with him a few weeks ago, I will try to get that video on here as well, what a blast! David loves the snow and his snow outfit.
Hope everyone is doing well, speaking of David breaking out... guess what, lol! Gotta run.

Monsters Under The Bed

Just a funny for you all... I thought having Cole (the black lab) sleep in Davids room would be a great relief, not only to me since she is the only dog who will bark if there is trouble, but also to David as we would never have to worry about the "boogie man" or "monsters under the bed" since she would be there for David.... I now find that I have to check under the bed for Cole to make sure Roo (our cat) isn't in there as she will attack Cole, lol! Just a little funny from my world. Night all!

Winter is FINALLY Here!

And boy did it decide it is here to stay! I bet we have almost 16" this morning. Last night you could just see our rock walk path with Charlies foot prints on it, today you can't tell there is a single rock in the yard, the wind drifted snow into all the flat places and made it all the same height, so this morning I had to follow the dogs down the tiers of planter beds as it seemed safer than trying to find a rock path and stairs to take them potty. In some places snow was up to my knees! Check it out.

Well, after swimming today (sunday the 28th) we all went up the gondola in Aspen and got to see where Daddy grooms in the winter. The fall colors were awesome and David had a great lunch up top of mini corn dogs and french fries, he fed me what he didn't want, lol. His new official word is "up" so that came in very handy! This is the video of my friend Megan and her friend Kieth on the river in Glenwood... they are both fine, a little beat up, but ok, Megan lost her cell phone (it was in a dry bag, but they found the raft in Rifle, 8 miles later) and now they call her Maytag for getting whirlpooled, lol! GO MEGAN!!!

Just an update: Megan totally seems calm about this whole thing and even went out again! Considering I used to dogsled race, I can understand the need to "get back on the horse", but this is exactly why I won't go rafting, lol!

The Missing

Sorry I have been so busy with work and haven't uploaded many pics (yes Angela I am working on your cd! lol -and Aaron's too, oh yah and Daves DVD's... wow!), but we are just trying to keep up with our new toddler! YES, David is walking!!! My mom was lucky enough to be here when he finally got the hang of it. Next time we are at the ranch he can chase the chickens by himself! I am so excited... many of you are wondering how I can be so happy, as this means he is more than just "crawling mobile", he is "into everything mobile", right? Well, Charlie got a "Kid Kennel", lol! I laughed at the pictures of kids sitting in this playpen sized "baby yard", but we just stretched it out from our couch to our bedroom and removed the coffee table and viola! he has a perfect play area away from the kitchen and office that we can monitor him in and know he is happy and safe while we cook, clean or take the dogs out. David is so happy to not be constantly reminded not to play in the dog water or cat food that he is able to deal with the "back teeth teething" better, and he sleeps pretty well after all this exercise. He also loves to push his stroller on walks and I have a great crash video from one such occasion, I hope to upload more videos ASAP. My mom got a good one so I will do hers and some pics now and add more later. Hope everyone is well!

A new truck!

Charlie just bought a "new" truck (new to us anyway), here is a pick of the big boy, it will be hauling around the bobcat pretty soon for weekend jobs. Charlie says it drives great and it has leather interior! I think I am jealous, lol! Also here is a pic of David watching Daddy "play" in the dirt... he watched Charlie for about 15 minutes that day and still watches him as he builds a wall to make our yard nicer. Other news is that we plan to make a small play yard for David out back next to the dog yard, hmmmmmm.... lol! His won't be fenced in though, but will hopefully have a swing as he LOVED the swings at the parks he has been to. Charlie cleaned it up and flattened it out so we can plant grass as soon as they turn on the ditch water. Then I get to go to town with wild flowers and roses, maybe even a small veggie garden!

Wow, things around here have gone crazy, not only did we get a cat to add to the three dogs and one baby, but our jobs are about to turn with the season... Charlie will exchange graveyard grooming on Aspen Mtn. for weekdays doing excavation – meaning I will go from two days a week for 12 hours a day and the occasional 5 hour thursdays, to 6 hour days on the weekends... less hours and pay for me, but more time as a family together :-)
David has had teeth coming in by the pair! As soon as two come in two more are on the way, four top and now coming into four bottom! His first b-day will be so much fun! I am designing the invite and the "newsletter/thank you" for xmas and this season to send out next week... boy I better hurry! I can't wait to let him eat his first birthday cake :-D
I have been working at home on a paper as well and will be more involved soon, so I promise to get pics out and invites sent by next weekend, before I get too wrapped up.
Roo (the cat) has carved herself a nice place in the family, she keeps both Cole and Vodka on their toes as she is not afraid to keep them away from the office (her room) or to attack them in either a fun sport or malicious act of dominance... we aren't sure yet, lol! She stays clear of Kermit as he is not so coy as Cole and Vodka are when it comes to territory. It cracks me up when I have to yell at the cat to quit picking on the dogs! Roo even let David pet her... all on her own the other day when she climbed into a chair in "baby land"... he cried when I told him not to grab her face (such a sweet boy -he is still learning though), but got over it as I showed him how to pet her nice, he even gave her a few hugs... he gets so excited when he sees her.
David is still afraid to try walking, but has "accidentally" let go of my leg and stood for a second on his own, and just today he took one step with no help or support from the coffee table to me!!! I shouldn't be so excited... I know.

Bananas Please!

David has added yet another word to his vocabulary... well at least it sounds close to the word so I know what he means... when he wants a banana he very insistently says "nAnAnAna" over and over until I get him one... he can and will eat a whole banana in a day, then ask for more at dinner time... that is usually how I know he is hungry. He also says "doth" for dog "dat" for cat, "da" for me and "dad" or "dada" for Charlie... he just recently added the t and th sounds to the end of the words, everything used to be "da" or "dA" with different pitches in tone.
Anyway, the little creepy crawler is really turning into a talker, a walker and a climber... he still needs support to walk, but he is trying to climb toys, furniture and me. He loves bouncing on my lap and giving me hugs... he still hugs his toys and says "aaaaaaahhhhhhhh" very softly. He loves to play with Cole through the playpen siding, she licks or gently nips his fingers when he pushes them at her, an extension of a game we play with him where we tickle his hand, or put our face down and say peekaboo!
Boy is he a bundle of fun! I am so enjoying my time with him. He is learning how to joke and tease by pretending to hand you a toy, all the while laughing as he doesn't plan on letting you take it... laughter is an almost constant sound around here... aside from the occasional temper fit due to tiredness or hunger.... and I am not just talking about David, lol!
Our new cat Roo is adapting very well and even comes up to David for a short sniff. She likes to snuggle with me at night just before I head to bed and she runs amok through the house, eating plants and scaring away the mice. So far she is doing a great job! Her and Cole are having a battle, Roo ignores Vodka and stays far away from Kermit, but Cole started it by charging at her one day and eating her food another, now if Cole even walks past the office Roo will attack her... it is hilarious! The cat can sure hold her own, and poor Cole won't go in the office now... which is what we want... Vodka is also very good about staying out of the rooms that don't belong to her, she is too old to play with Roo anyway... she just wants to nap in peace and go on hikes with Charlie.
Well, Charlie and my anniversary is coming up and we are taking a trip to Montrose for a few days so he can ski Telluride and my family can watch David while we go out and eat together and maybe go to the Ouray hot springs Sunday night (ann is the 2nd, but time off that works for us all due to dog sitting and family work schedules is the 8th and 9th, so we will be celebrating the 9th this year)... we decided not to go to Steamboat as no one would be there and we could just stay home together if we want to be alone with David for the weekend, so we will take some weekdays off in a bit and head out there when everyone can meet us.
Hope all is well with everyone, I will at least try to keep posting even if pics won't upload, as you can see video does just fine on the first try, so maybe that will be what I do instead since I email pics through Walmart.com anyway. A new HUGE upload on its way in the next week, I promise.

More dogsledding and an update

Here it is... we are headed down... at the end you can see the moon over the hill. I will try to get more next time... it was obviously getting late and my hand kept freezing... pics to come soon on walmart.com... more pics of David as well. Boy is he crawling now... standing up with support on tables and chairs and even walking while holding on to things. What a great boy he is... he even has a sense of humor! He will pretend to hand you something, all the while laughing as he knows he isn't going to give it to you... another fave is having me kiss a toy... he also loves to hug toys and people and will even say "awwwwwwwww" while he does it now... such a sweetie! He knows dog and cat... it sounds like "dada" and "dat"... he does say "DaDa" for daddy and I am "da", go figure! He eats all sorts of foods now and even tries to ask what things are as well as trying to say them back to us. Anyone who wants to visit is welcome as we have the futon in the office for guests. We would love for you all to have a chance to meet him as he is now becoming more aware of things and even more fun to be around. He has 5 teeth now... wears 18 to 24 month (or 2T) clothes... #5 Luvs and is 10 1/2 months old... he weighs around 22 lbs (last doctor visit) and is 29 1/2 inches long... soon it will be tall as he stands up... at 1 year I plan to start marking his height on a door or wall.
Anyway.... I better get to bed, I work tomorrow morning, only 5 hours (a half day!), but after two 13 hour days I am done!
A big thanks to Charlie as he spent the last two days catching up on chores and organizing the office for us and our new cat Roo... boy is it sooooooo much better!

No sooner do I post that David can't crawl forward then he does it! Yep, he crawls forward now, even to me when I say "come to me"... of course he was hungry at the time, lol! And I swear I see two more teeth coming in on top also!!! David even pulled himself up to standing once he reached me by grabbing my pants and I held an elbow for him. Boy is he growing up fast!

Sorry it has been almost a month since I last posted. Been busy with family visiting and going to visit family. My brother came out to visit for just less than a week. David was scared of him at first, but after a few days let him hold, rock and feed him. It was the first time Josh got to see his nephew! My mom also came up to our house for Christmas. It was so much fun watching David open presents (we helped of course), he loved the tissue and wrapping paper almost as much as all the toys!
We are very appreciative to everyone for everything!
We all headed to Montrose for a late Christmas with my grandma and aunt and uncle and are planning a trip to Chuck and Jills (Papa and Nana) condo in Steamboat next week. I believe we will get to see ASK as well... it has been awhile since David saw his other uncle and aunt and his cousin Skylar... she is talking a lot now and will start skiing soon!
David has played out in the snow a little bit and is pretty interested in it... Charlie bought him a sled so he can pull him around and ride down the hill with him... as soon as we get some less cold and snowy weather he can take him out, there is snow on the road and yard all the time now... we also need to make him a snowman! He also has two top and two bottom teeth... he is becoming such a big boy, he crawls backwards but can sit up, roll over and can launch himself forward from sitting to his stomach to reach something he desires... he is getting creative about moving around and can relocate himself very quickly... can't take your eyes off of him for a minute!!!
I am going to try and upload some pics, but don't usually have much success anymore so let me know if you would like a link to the Walmart pictures.... I haven't uploaded the xmas stuff yet, but hope to today... if you have received a link from me before you are still in the list and will get these as well.. I even have pics from my bro and mom.

We had a great time with Charlies Mom this weekend! Sad to see her go after only one night.
It finally snowed!!! David, Daddy, Cole and Mommy played outside for a bit tonight while Vodka watched from the patio.

Well, it appears Santa came early for the lot of us, Charlie got his coffee maker, I got my phones and David got his two front teeth!
Some other firsts is Thanksgiving... it went great and my whole family came up. David gave me a kiss last night, three actually, they were the best kisses I have ever received (sorry Charlie!), open mouth and drooling but he tried his best! David also crawled today... backwards that is... he has been able to spin in circles for awhile during tummy time, but today he picked up his tummy and sorta crawled backwards for awhile... not long til he is running around causing all sorts of trouble! Another interesting development is that David will give me high fives, it is so cute. David is also eating "puffs" little cereal like snacks that sorta melt in his mouth while he learns to chew and feed them to himself... what a big boy!

I just had to post this quickly... I have some fun video up soon I hope of David being adorable in his saucer... but this cracked me up! Cole is a lab as you know, and wants to fetch all the time... she drives us crazy wanting us to throw a ball or toy and now she has decided that David should start doing the honors... of course he can't throw, so she sits there and waits patiently for him to throw her toy... not going to happen -yet!

Hi all... sorry I have been so busy with work and David... as I may have mentioned I work 6 days a week and have David for 5 days, Charlie has him during the weekends while I clean cabins. I got sick again and FINALLY went to the Dr. for drugs! I am starting to feel better (she thinks I have been over doing it a bit), I just let this sinus thing go on for way too long and it is a bad infection now that gave me another flu.
Well, David had his first Halloween, we stayed in, but dressed him up to hand out candy... there was only one group of kids (pretty much all of the ones in the neighborhood), so he didn't have to stay in it too long. Next year it will be more fun I think for him, or us anyway... I won't be sick, I hope!

David and Daddy went for a hike over at Avalanche Creek a few days ago... the first time in his backpack on a real hike! Here is Daddy dressing David up and getting the backpack ready on a test run a few days before... Cole got to go with them on the actual hike... this time they walked around the neighborhood and visited with neighbors along the way. Boy is he getting big... too big for most of his clothes! He doesn't fit in half of what we have and has outgrown most of it without ever getting to wear it! He is actually in 9 - 12 month old clothes! All his heavy sleepers are too small already, now that it is starting to get cold at night... and his socks are too thin to keep his feet warm enough at night... time to go shopping!
I don't have a pic yet, but he is standing up... with a little help of course... boy, soon enough he will be running around the house causing all sorts of chaos!

David is trying to sit up on his own, can almost hold up his own weight when standing, just needs help ballancing... and has two guardian angel dogs living in his room, what a spoiled boy! Well, David goes to work with me on the weekdays... he is getting more self entertaining... but I still can only go in a few hours a day since we are trying to get him on a nap schedule and being there is not helpful in a normal nap situation... but he is learning new tricks and enjoying a new atmosphere and people. Here is the foot on the block thing I mentioned before. He loves his reflection, it is soooo funny to watch him. Ok, it was my 30th bday/Labor Day Karaoke by Dave party. My mom came and took care of David and even slept in his room for his first two nights in his crib! Of course she got Vodka hooked on the bed and now she lives in there with Cole as his guardian angels.... leaving Kermit to our room... boy is he happy to be out of our bathroom!
The party was great! Everyone ate and sang and had a good time, Charlie even made me brownies! Our roommates were great sports and even sang a few songs. Gina and Brett brought over Cooper... who used to hand down his clothes to David being almost 4 months older, but David is already in 6 - 12 month clothing, depending on the brand, as is Cooper, so soon we may be handing down to him! Wait til High School, he will probably be as big as his dad by then.
I will have like 9 posts worth of pics and will try to comment when needed.... enjoy! Sorry it has been so long, but I am working weekdays (3 – 5:30 pm only) and weekends now... we are kinda busy lately!

My mom and grandma came up last Friday to take me and David out for my b-day lunch (early, so my grandma could watch me open gifts and visit)... I am 30 tomorrow!!! Then Grandma Jill came by on her way back to Wyoming from Arizona and stayed the night... they all just missed each other by 1 hour :-( but David had fun, though he was fussy most of the afternoon.
I got some great gifts... one of which is Davids high chair and a pair of tennis shoes and some nice skirts, A Knights Tale, and others... looking forward to my moms visit this weekend and my karaoke party!

I was so amazed this morning as I drove past my neighbors house and thought to myself... hmmmm, I think that looked like a bear staring at me... so I backed up and sure enough it was. Didn't have my camera of course! So tonight, driving home I said to Charlie... this is the house that -oh, there is the bear!
He wouldn't let me stay longer than a few seconds as it might attack us........... so I only got these two shot... they are ok, but far from what my camera can do.

While David is still napping thought I better get caught up on some of the cute pics from the last few weeks. The first one is the four month pic for the birth to 1 year frame I gave the grandmothers for Mothers Day.
He is just getting so big and good at tummy time and holding his head up, he even can pick a toy he wants and lean forward and get it, sometimes falls on his face, but when I put him back up he has the toy and a big smile! He is using his hands to pass toys back and forth and explore textures, he even pets my hair sometimes... better than pulling it!

...well almost, he kicks and doesn't mind getting splashed and loves his float (thank you Katie!) and had a really great time and attracted lots of ladies! lol
He will get to start swim class in two months, yay! So I want him to be ahead of everyone, of course, lol! I took so many swim classes I finally dropped out after around 12 years and diving leasons... didn't want to dive or start to compete... I am not that fast really, just a good floater!
David did not cry, did not fuss, did not shiver, but after almost an hour we decided he was getting tired. He crashed around 7:45 tonight and I don't even think he will wake when I move him from the living room to his bed... remains to be seen, but he did eat a good dinner of peas (another first today!) and 6 oz of formula, so we will see.
Well, Katie got us a few passes and says she can get more... what a great help as any passes no matter the cost are more than we can afford now... so it is so nice that she not only is giving them and the float to us, but she also came and took pictures of us and played with David so I could film and take pics...... always the photographer, never the subject -if I can help it!
Well... I will get uploading now, probably need two blogs full.... so that means I am ready to do another Walmart.com upload this week, email me and I will make sure you get a link (you don't need to worry if I already have your email I will send it to you, but comments are more than welcome! Well, David and Charlie got to spend another weekend together while I worked and helped with a yard sale... Charlie took over the yard sale and David hung in all day on sunday with him! What a couple of troopers! Charlie is loving "their time" and I am glad they get to spend more alone time as I am too protective and overbearing and hog David all to myself when I am home... I even steal him on Charlies evenings for bath time sometimes! I am so bad! I will try to post part of the bath video if I get a chance, it is too cute! David loves taking baths... and water as you will soon see in my next post :)

Here is my new tattoo!
I thought I should add a few more pics from that day, Aaron got RCAs pawprint done with some feathers... I forget what ones, on is an eagle feather though, he took it from a scan I did of the cast the vet took at the time we had to put him to sleep... boy, memories... I helped revive all the puppies in his litter during a c-section around 12 years ago... his mother and father were my first lead dogs and we won lots of ribbons together... boy do I miss all of them. Aaron also has a tattoo of RCA and Callie on his other shoulder.
Edie, Aarons mom, got a cute dragonfly... her first tattoo! Her and Aarons sis Mical watched David during my tattoo, also here is a new one of my tattoo... a little less red :-)

Here are a few ballet pics of me and Jenny O, also my Mom, Grandma Ruthy and Grandma Jackie (she passed away when I was 14, her and Grandpa Mickey were good friends of the family). Well, here are some pics from our Montrose visit... wish I had gotten pics of the puppies... yes, that's right, Bubba (of Aarons kennel) and Storm (Kermit and Jr's sister... of Jackie and Jacks kennel) had a litter of 5 boys and one girl... most are white, but some have other colors on them as well... such cute puppies! I saw them the morning that they were born... I forgot how little and cute the are... ok, not really, but they are cute as can be... I can never forget a sight as wonderful as newborns!

Wow! David is holding his head up so high now! He loves playing sit up and does "power crunches" when he is propped against a pillow at a slight angle... he actually fell on his face today he sat up so much on his own! I was watching, it was my pillow top on the bed and he didn't cry until he was upright and had a moment to think about what happened, lol... he got over it pretty quick though and was back at it again.
Tonight was Business After Hours for the Carbondale Chamber and Dave was playing/singing Karaoke... he got me to sing two songs with him... just wait for his b-day this sunday! A great time was had by all and the food was almost as good as the entertainment!
There was an awesome rainbow after I dropped some of Daves equipment off at his place (it started raining) and my camera actually picked up the colors pretty well, I am surprised, usually they look way washed out.

Tickle, tickle, tickle!

Yes, David now understands tickle! He laughs when I say it now as I tickle his feet, tummy or cheeks. He now understands it feels good and is a funny thing! Such progress. He tries to sit up on his own sometimes if he is on a pillow or my lap laying at a more upright position. He loves his chairs that let him sit up and look around and play with toys, he is batting at them and grabbing and holding them now! I made him a photo album (thanks Ralph and family!) with pictures of him with different familyl members so he can hold the memory of them at least a little bit. Won't be long till he knows everyone and remembers them when they are gone. He looks for me when someone else is holding him and he hears my voice, makes me feel wonderful! He follows Daddy with his head when he walks by and stares up at him with wonder... it is sooooo cute!
Sorry it has been so long since I posted, here are some more fun pics. Uncle Dave came for a visit, he is Davids Godfather too! Quesa is our roomates dog, and David has really taken to Katie.
Poor Charlie the water heater has been leaking since before we bought the place (Charlie will be talking to the inspectors who saw water dripping under the house there and did nothing to further investigate!), so Charlie is tearing up the floor in the laundry room, partway into the kitchen and into our bathroom next... seems we may get a new shower out of this, but what a pain!
Well, I am trying to unpack the office so I am standing in piles of my stuff (bedrest when we moved, yuck!) so I better go now.

Wyoming

Sorry to everyone that I forgot to tell we were going away for the rest of the week to the ranch in Wyoming. I have way too many pics so I will upload them to Walmart just as soon as I can... for now here are a few highlights.
David saw and touched his first chicken! He saw cows and slept through the cattle drive we went on (we drove the truck) and met a few horses. He has started reaching for things and hitting his toys that spin or make noise! What a new step. He is growing so fast. He loves playing "sit-up" where you lay him down and pull his arms, he lifts his legs when he is ready and tightens his arms up... he is holding his head up great now and can almost sit up without falling over, at least for a few seconds anyway. He slept almost the whole way to Wyoming and mostly all the way back. What a great traveler! I am confident that he should do good when we travel for the rest of his life since he is getting all this practice in. This was his first out of state trip! He slept through the fireworks on the 4th, but I taped them for him to watch later (ok, for me too, lol) and is close to sleeping all night, just one wake up around 3 am right now, then asleep until almost 7 am every day except today, he got really cold and woke up very upset this morning!
Well, thank you to Grandma Jill and Grandpa Chuck for a wonderful fun filled visit... I even got to nap most days as Grandma Jill took David and played with him for a few hours (Grandma Anna was also very helpful with this when we visited her!) and got to bond. We are all glad we got to visit for so long since we don't get up there very often. Vodka even went this time and got to meet new dogs, play in a new yard and pond (she even got her feet wet!) and met horses for the first time... she is still afraid of them! Cole over did it the first day, going on a bike ride with Charlie on the continental divide, running around the ranch with the other dogs and then catching every piece of wood Jill threw down stream from a beaver dam she had to break up as it was blocking their irrigation water, so she had to rest most of the rest of the time. She is better today though. I can't wait for our next visit in late September.

Montrose

Here are a few pics from our trip to Montrose. David and I had a great time visiting with Grandma Anna and Great Grandma Ruthy. Great Aunt Jackie and Great Uncle Jack had dinner with us and played with David on Saturday night, but we got so into playing poker that we forgot to bring out the cameras! Grandma Anna showed David his feet while she was playing with him and now he kicks his legs straight up in the air when he is on his back, pretty cute, except when I am trying to change his diaper!
David is getting too heavy for Great Grandma... heck he is getting too heavy for Mommy!
Grandma took him for a walk in the morning and met some nice people on the way. Everyone at her work was happy to see him and said he looked more like her than me! What a great time we had.
Jackie and Jack are watching Kermit for the month since they have a "rock safe" yard that we helped paver for their dog Uno... she has the same problem as Kermit... so I will get him when we go back for their B-days at the end of the month... hope he is having fun at "doggy summer camp".

David LOVES his new lion. He watches it dance (when I make it dance) and talks to it, it is the first toy he has reached for! He likes to hold the keys and sometimes tries to eat them, but the lion is IT! Thanks Gina! :-)
We all have a bit of a cold. David seems to be like me with the sinus drainage to the stomache rather than to the chest like Charlie... I guess that is good and bad in some ways. We are fussy today and probably tomorrow, but hopefully will be better by Saturday for a trip to Montrose.
The HUGE moth was outside at midnight when we first woke up last night. And here are a few other cute pics.

Yes ladies and gentlemen.... David slept until 4:30am!!!! I did what my Mom suggested, since the rice cereal won't go through the nipple (I have ruined a few trying) I put it on a spoon and fed it to him, it was a little messy and took two spoons to get him a full serving, plus he ate 6oz of formula, all after a bath... and I was so shocked when I looked at the clock this morning... he even woke me up! Usually I wake up at around 2am now since I am used to it, but due to no nap yesterday I was beat, and still am. Let's hope he keeps it up as it takes at least 3 days of good sleep to be totally caught up.

We got rid of commercial tv at least, but I noticed when he is in his chair he watches what I am watching, so I put in Happy Feet so I could eat dinner... at least I am monitoring I guess... and sitting with him... I just feel like if it isn't me entertaining him I am doing him wrong????
